Mckinney Falls Park – Austin

Posted by jenna wakeley On October - 29 - 2009

So I admit I’ve definitely been on a park kick lately, but the weather’s been so gorgeous it’s impossible to resist! The latest venture was to Mckinney Falls Park in south east Austin.  Mckinney falls park began in 1970 from a private donation of land and is named after Thomas Mckinney, one of the original settlers of Austin back in 1850.

It’s late in the year but still a few flowers are hanging around :)

My friend Ruben thinks this cloud looks like a guitar, I think loch ness monster… what do you think?

The water winds it’s way over a bed of limestone…

Filling in the nooks to create little pools along its way.

Down to the falls area. There are upper falls and lower falls, you can swim in the lower but I happen to be a fan of the upper.

I still think it looks like a guitar w/a broken neck…but Lochness is a great suggestion. And thanks for spelling my name correctly. I like your cactus pic as well.
